I AM appalled at the letter from taxi driver Mr Keith Southern (BEN: Thursday, July 5), who says he will not give way to any vehicle who chooses to ignore the signs on Newport Street, Bolton.
It appears that not only is he determined to cause an accident deliberately, but also put his fare-paying passengers at risk as well because of his attitude. The licensing authorities should immediately suspend his licence until he passes a new test.
It is up to the local authorities and the police to control the situation, not such a driver who, by his own admission, has not read a Highway Code for almost 30 years.
If and when you do get round to buying a copy, Mr Southern, (price £1.49) you should turn immediately to rule 125, which applies to you just as much as every other road user.
