BOLTON Sailing Club Belmont Early Summer Points Series on Sunday saw rain, mist and strong winds from the north west gave some of the most exciting racing this summer. The patrol boats were kept fully occupied with sometimes four or more boats capsized at a time but after the warm weather the water was not cold and only dignity was damaged . Bolton hosted the Lightning trophy races inside the handicap fleet this Sunday.
Handicap Fleet GP Fourteen Fleet Merlin Fleet first race: Robinson, Nelson, Scott, Ranson, Walker, Smith, Ivins, Critchley, Flint.
Second race: Critchley, Platt, Axford, Barclay, Nelson, Scott, Durham, Walker, Cahill.
Third race: Critchley, Platt, Cahill, Barclay, Moulton, Flint, Ranson, Critchley, Jones.
Junior Race: Neil Holland first, Beth Nelson second.
Lightning Open Trophy: first I Ranson, second M Lockyer, third G Smith.
