RICARDO Gardner has been given time to rest up after spending the summer on World Cup duty with Jamaica.

When the rest of the Wanderers' squad reported back for pre-season training yestreday, the winger is enjoying two weeks' extra holiday.

Gardner, who jetted to the Caribbean immediately after Wanderers' play-off final success in May, was given special dispensation to miss the early training sessions after playing the latest of the Reggae Boyz' qualifiers against Trinidad and Tobago last week.
