A BIRD rescuer has pleaded for the return of his stolen trailer.
Jimmy Simpson, aged 38, bought the adapted trailer two weeks ago.
But it was stolen and Mr Simpson now has no way of collecting sick or injured birds.
Mr Simpson, of Grierson Street, Astley Bridge, used to transport his birds in the back of his van.
He sold the vehicle last month to buy the trailer, which he had fitted with bird cages.
He said: "It was specially made for me so I can't think why anyone would want it. I'm registered with Pet Rescue and I work on my own."
And he said: "If I don't get the trailer back, I may have to give up."
Mr Simpson picks up sick and injured birds and takes them back to his aviary.
The trailer cost him £800. It is 4ft by 3ft, made of aluminium and fibre glass and has the word Birds In Carriage written on the side in black.
If you can help Mr Simpson, call him on 382660.
