YOUNGSTERS in Horwich showed off their horticultural skills by growing a host of colourful sunflowers.
Children aged from 18 months to five-year-old took part in the competition at Moorlands Nursery School in Chorley New Road.
Cllr Barbara Ronson chose the winners and awarded Laura Hainey, Bethany Crompton and Aaron Walsh prizes.
The youngsters are now preparing for their end of term teddy bear's picnic party.
Owner Denise Hunt said: "The children spent six weeks growing the flowers and really enjoyed the competition. Some of the flowers are still here, but lots of the children wanted to take them home with them."
A limited number of grant assisted places are available for three to four year-olds from September.
