DUKE William of the Tuesday Second Division have picked up exactly where they left off at the end of last season.

After winning the Third Division title, Duncan McClelland's Duke William are now in fine form in the Second and looking to accomplish the same feat. This week it was the turn of Dun Mare to face this ever-improving team.

Duke William showed why they are making a name for themselves as the team to beat as they won comfortably with a 17-7 scoreline.

In the Friday Under 16 Premier Division, Breightmet Wanderers' days at the top are looking to be numbered as Seedfield Sports closed the gap even further this week to just two points.

Seedfield, having already defeated Breightmet Wanderers earlier in the season, managed to overcome tough opposition in the form of Egerton Eagles as they ran out 7-5 winners in a closely-fought contest.

Breightmet Wanderers could only manage a 3-3 draw with Halliwell Storm A which allowed the gap to be closed. As the Under 16 league now moves into its last three games, it is up to Breightmet Wanderers not to slip up and allow Seedfield to steal in and take the glory.

FC Hangover are the pacesetters in the Thursday First Division. They lie top of the league with a 100 per cent record. This week they met Blackburn Road in a crucial match to keep them top of the league. Blackburn Road started the game well and put together some amazing moves going forward. However FC Hangover soaked up this pressure and then attacked later on as Blackburn Road began to tire. Hangover won the game 11-6. Next week they face another undefeated team, Gisborn Thrust who will be looking for victory to put them in the driver's seat.
