OLYMPIA made an assertive start in their midweek clash with Howcroft.

They overwhelmed a tentative Howcroft who had their confidence dented by Olympia's explosive play.

In a first half dominated by Olympia, only two attempts on goal did not find the net. In the last 10 minutes, Howcroft regained their composure to make more of an impact on a relaxed Olympia. When the final whistle blew, Howcroft's fightback had earned them a respectable 18 goals in a 27-18 defeat.

Section D provided the closest game of the week when Tom Bridge took on Bolton Metro. The two well-matched teams played to their limits and demonstrated some fine skills. Centre for Tom Bridge, Sue Coleman, kept her team in contention every step of the way. Bolton Metro's Sarah Waring was equally influential in marshalling her squad. A thrilled Bolton Metro clinched a welcome win by a single goal. Barnstormers kept their 100 per cent record intact with a goal-scoring bonanza against Dreams and Drapes. After 11 matches, Barnstormers have out-scored other teams in all four sections with a magnificent 413 goals. Also in Section B, Andrea Whipp achieved only their second victory this season in fine style. Deb Hague kept her team on their toes to build on and maintain a slender first half lead. John Smith's tried to lift their game but could not quite make the breakthrough, going down 19-12.

Healey-Karwat were again in good form, this time defeating Langford Roofing. Langford struggled to get on the scoresheet in the first half and their later efforts failed to get them back in contention. Healey took their chances, Samantha Swainston making the most of some accurate feeding into the circle. With a match in hand, Healey are rapidly ascending Section C.
