A MAN had to have his jaw wired up after his brother-in-law punched him the face.

Mohammed Saffar hit Mohammed Al Hassan after he had been told he had humiliated his wife in public.

Saffar, aged 33, of Halliwell Road, Bolton, appeared at Bolton Crown Court for sentence.

He had earlier admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on January 4, 2000.

John O'Shea, prosecuting, said Saffar had been told that his sister, who was married to Al Hassan, had been humiliated.

Fight

He went into the street and Al Hassan beckoned to him to come and fight.

Saffar told police he 'lost it' and punched Al Hassan once in the face. Al Hassan suffered two fractures to his jaw and a broken finger.

Recorder Alan Conrad QC ordered Saffar to serve a Community Rehabilitation Order for two years, with a proviso he attends an anger management course.

His brother, Tahir Saffar, also of Halliwell Road, Bolton, agreed to be bound over in the sum of £400 to keep the peace for 12 months.
