MAGISTRATES issued a warrant for the arrest of a Radcliffe man who failed to attend court to answer allegations of assault and witness intimidation.

Wayne Anthony Englebert, aged 23, of Cross Lane, is charged with assaulting his former partner, mother-of-three Vanessa Gormley, by punching her several times around the head and face.

He was bailed but charged with breaching conditions by failing to live at Cross Lane and threatening to take his own life with the intention of intimidating Vanessa Gormley and interfering with the course of justice.

Englebert was bailed to a hostel in Oldham, and was required to attend in court before a pre-trial review.

When he failed to appear, the magistrates issued a warrant without bail.
