A NEIGHBOURHOOD row ended with a man being hit with a bat, Bolton Crown Court was told.
There had been a history of bad blood between Ivor Stewart and his neighbour Cedric Jordan, culminating in the late-night attack.
Stewart, aged 35, of Ralph Street, Halliwell, had been convicted of assaulting Mr Jordan occasioning him actual bodily harm, following a three-day trial last month.
He appeared for sentence yesterday and the court was told that Stewart took a bat from his car and hit Mr Jordan twice.
Recorder Alan Conrad QC sentenced Stewart to a Community Punishment Order of 180 hours.
