MANCHESTER Youth Theatre is in search of "old" members.

The organisation is looking to renew contact with former members who may have lost touch.

In its 36-year history thousands of young people have passed through the company, yet it is currently in touch with a mere handful of ex-members.

To rectify this, the Youth Theatre is holding an ex-members' event at The Lowry, Salford Quays as part of its 2001 summer season.

In addition to re-establishing contact, those who attend will see the theatre's production of The Caucasian Chalk Circle at The Lowry.

The play, written by Bertol Brecht will be performed at the Quays Theatre, from September 4 to 8, and will be directed by Bridget Foreman, Manchester Youth Theatre's artistic director.

The theatre is also set to run a series of courses and a new play development project led by writer/director Sam Boardman Jacobs, with the aim of creating a new piece of theatre for 2002.

Further details about the ex-members' event, or any forthcoming courses, are from Bridget Foreman on 0161 232 8805.
