THOUSANDS of residents will learn valuable crime prevention tips as part of a new police drive.
A special booklet is being posted to homes in a bid to make Bolton safer.
The 16-page publication features information on burglary, property marking, how to secure your home when you are on holiday and tips on dealing with strangers who call at your home.
There is also advice on domestic violence, personal safety and a list of numbers needed in an emergency.
PC Steve Openshaw, crime reduction adviser for the Bolton South sub-division, said: "The information provided will give residents and local businesses a valuable and a useful guide to community safety partnerships.
"The book contains advice and information on working together to combat crime by taking simple steps at home and at work."
Police chiefs are advising people that the reference document should be kept near their telephone in case they need to check up on crime safety tips.
