A POLICEMAN who completed the London Marathon has raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Sgt John Hall, aged 43, who works in a police child protection unit, completed the run for this first time in April.
He is celebrating breaking the £1,000 barrier to help ChildLine, set up by TV celebrity Esther Rantzen to allow children to phone special hotlines for advice and support.
Sgt Hall said: "It was my first marathon so I decided to do it for charity.
"I have collected £1,085 for Childline."
