UNBEATEN Horwich RMI lost their record when they took on struggling Chorley Ladies in E Section.

The first half went to form with RMI leading 104-53. Hazel Pennington was the top-scorer with 37 runs. Chorley batted a second time and lost six batters quickly. Sharon Greenhalgh 42 runs, Tracy Hulme 30, Julie Griffiths 29, Ruth Newton 28 runs and Sandra Charnock 10 runs were the main scorers in a total of 166.

Horwich could only score 95 in their second innings but suffered their first defeat when they lost 219-199.

Westside B lost again to Rose Lea 145-125. Westside were many people's favourites to win this section but any of six teams could be champions in this very close section.

Barlow Park Ladies and Bishop Bridgeman Ladies the top two teams in L section at Barlow Park. In a very close match Barlow Park Ladies won 172-161.

In the second round of the Finestyle Windows Competition, Carl Chapman XI A and Daisy Hill CC A have to reply after a draw 129-129.

Widdows Mason XI just got the better of Hamers 177-169, once more the handicap was spot on with Hamers receiving 60 runs.

Royal Hotel received 240 runs against Darcy Lever CC A with Darcy having a 20 minute time limit when batting. Royal finished winners by 12 runs 285-273. Darcy failed to bat the full 20 minutes in the first innings which proved the deciding factor.

In the Dorothy Clarke competition, Walkden CC B continued their good run with a 185-97 win against Grey Man Vixens.

Bolton Castle received 100 runs start against St Teresa's and won convincingly 142(1)-127.

Redgate Ladies F got back to winning ways when they beat Blackrod Gallaghers 154(1)-95.

Barren Ladies I led Darcy XI 131-109 after one innings each with Gill Bulger 20 runs, Sue Young 23 runs, Irene Hough 16 and Diane Hunt 14 runs being the top scorers. The second innings was similar with Barren winning 231-171.

Bolton District Ladies A recorded their second win of the season with a victory over Heaton CC A 231-162.

Egerton Pipe Tube A beat Carters Arms E 2329-168. Fiona Hall 68 runs and Ruth Hamnett 39 were top scorers.

A high scoring game between Knights XI and Lower Pools went Knights way 297-275.

The Howcroft Inn trailed by 80 runs at half time against Chamberlain Doors. In the second innings Chamberlain were dismissed for 33 runs while Howcroft scored 124. Howcroft won the match by 11 runs.
