THE BEN is right to highlight the reduction in the number of accidents on St Peter's Way, Bolton.
Any reduction in the number of people injured is to be commended.
I suspect, however, that the reduction is due to the lengthened slip road from Raikes Lane and the protracted roadworks, rather than the new speed limit. Rash statements like those made in the BEN will have the Council falling over themselves to narrow the road to a single carriageway!
