PERSISTENT offender Peter Fortune blatantly ignored his bail conditions from previous court appearances to once again cause criminal damage at his former girlfriend's home.

Fortune, 30, appeared before Bury magistrates for the third time to plead guilty to virtually identical offences.

The court was told how each time Fortune had flung items, usually picked from the garden, through windows at his one time girlfriend's home.

During the latest offence earlier this month, said Dr Roger Woods, prosecuting, Fortune made three phone calls and then, at around 7.30pm turned up at the house.

Dr Woods also said that last October Fortune, of Lever Street, Radcliffe, was arrested for drink driving.

In court Fortune pleaded guilty to two counts of causing criminal damage, a further matter of drink driving, together with having no licence, no insurance and no MOT. He also admitted failing to surrender to his bail.

Fortune was sentenced to a two-year community rehabilitation order on the understanding that he deals with his alcohol abuse.

In addition there was a two-year driving ban and Fortune was ordered to pay his victim £350 compensation for the damage caused at the house.
