FIREFIGHTERS were forced to cut a dress ring off a women's finger last night.
Fire chiefs say Amanda Higginson, of Oakdale, Harwood, arrived at Bolton North Fire Station at 4am after her finger swelled up so much it woke her up.
Firemen used cutting equipment to take it off the middle finger of her left hand. Leading fireman Carl Bostock said: "She was so relieved when we cut it off she was jumping for joy."
