I AM disappointed, but not surprised, that Gary Titley, the Labour MEP for the North-west, should confuse racism and nationalism.

The Basque region of Spain is proudly nationalist, but certainly not racist, in that anyone not for Basque is against Basque. Only their methods for securing independence may be called in to question.

Is Gary's party not the party that gave devolution to Scotland and Wales? That being the case, how then can he complain when devolved regions take the next natural step forward from devolution to independence, as Scotland and Wales surely will in the near future? How will he stand then?

Racism deals with colour, nationalism with regions of a country. I am proud to be a Boltonian -- does that make me a racist to someone living in Essex?

What should be of concern to Gary Titley is the treachery within Parliament to subjugate the British people to a foreign state without their consent. A section Parliament seem willing to sell their country for 30 pieces of silver, or maybe a seat in a foreign government. But then, he is already there.
