A NEIGHBOUR caused more than £600 worth of damage to a door when he went next door to complain about noise.
A court at Bury heard how several years of animosity between father-of-four Kin Chan and his next door neighbour in Horne Street, Bury, Deborah Barber, came to a head early one morning.
Dr Roger Woods, prosecuting, said that Chan had gone round to the house next door to complain about loud music being played.
Chan was said to have repeatedly hit and kicked the door. When it was eventually opened he barged past the homeowner and unplugged her stereo. Later she found the door had been damaged to a total value of more than £600.
Chan was given a 12 months conditional discharge and was also ordered to pay £620.40 compensation with £55 costs.
