BOLTON people are being urged to do their bit for others in need by making May the month they give blood.

The National Blood Service has announced a series of donor sessions across the North-west and are now urging the public to attend.

The service say that to keep the region's hospitals stocked with a safe level of blood supplies they need 1,300 people to give blood a day.

The nearest sessions to Bolton are Bury Town Hall, Knowsley Street, on Monday, May 14, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm and between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

On Tuesday, May 15 you can give blood at The Mill At The Pier, St Thomas Street, Wigan, between the same times.

On Wednesday, May 16, Westhoughton Masonic Hall on Peel Street will hold sessions between 2pm and 4pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

There will be a further session at St Joseph's Church, Chapel Street, Leigh, on Thursday, May 17, again between 1.30pm and 3.30pm and 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
