FORMER Bolton Wanderers star John McGinlay helped to kick off a fun football competition being run at a Bolton supermarket.
Asda's new Kick for a Million Competition, in conjunction with Walkers and Britvic Soft Drinks, gives customers the chance to win up to £1 million.
The former favourite of Burnden Park challenges people to kick a ball through holes in a plastic sheet to win a prize. Contestants had their first opportunity at the Astley Bridge store on Blackburn Road and Super John is pictured with Wanderers' Lofty the Lion and five-year-old Alex Dargan, from Harwood.
Next in line are Asda Farnworth on May 12, from 10am to 4pm, which will also be holding a family fun day to raise money for local football teams with special guest Frank Stapleton. Asda Horwich's round of the competition is also on May 12.
