I'VE often thought about the times when I used to go the the Derby Hall Dance Hall in Bowkers Row, Bolton, every Friday night with friends from work.
The years would be 1947 to 1948, we all were about 16 or 17.
We enjoyed dancing very much, and there was always one young man who got me up dancing for a jive every time it was played. I loved the jive. I danced with other young men as well.
This young man came every Friday night, but I only ever knew him as Jack, so I called him 'Jiving Jack'. I was wondering what happened to him, and if he's still around.
At that time my name was Edna Taylor and I lived in Silverwell Street, Bolton. My telephone number now is 01204 384506.
