DO you recognise this band?
If so, Mr Lawrence Peter Fray, of 2 Childwall Close, Bolton, would like to hear from you. He tells me that he has a work colleague who has a particular interest in the trumpet player, Wilfred Johnson, who was her grandfather, and, he writes, "I am informed that he ran a haulage firm in Westhoughton. He died when my friend was too young to know him very well, and she would now like to find out more about her immediate family. Incidentally, she is a clarinettist and plays with orchestras in and around the Bolton area.
"I have turned out as much archival material as I can, but to no avail. It would be interested to know where the band played (if at a regular venue) or when, and where, the photograph was taken."
