RADCLIFFE Boro conceded two late goals in a 2-2 home Unibond League division one draw with Lincoln United.

With both sides keen to play the game, the referee gave the go-ahead despite the heavy rain, and the entertainment served up was of the highest order.

Boro took the lead on 29 minutes when Mark Dempsey's shot was deflected in, and added to it on 70 minutes when Neill Hardy set up Mark Carter to fire low into the bottom corner.

Three points looked to be in the bag but in the 88th minute a backpass to goalkeeper Hurst stuck in the water and Lincoln substitute Danny Hargreaves floated the ball in from 25 yards. In injury time a mad scramble from a corner saw Simon Bird stab the ball home for an equaliser for the visitors.

Ramsbottom United's NWCL division one title hopes faltered badly on a bog of a pitch with a 1-1 home draw against bottom of the table Leek CSOB.

The heavy water on the surface made the game a lottery with the visitors taking a shock lead on 58 minutes through Lee Fower. Ten minutes from the end Ramsbottom levelled through substitute Gary Walker.

The division two derby clash between Daisy Hill and Atherton LR finished 4-1 in the visitors' favour but it was a bad-tempered affair from start to finish.

Daisy scorer Paul Prescot was the first to be shown a red card for an off the ball incident. LR's goals came on 15 minutes from Barry Massay, Mark Jones on 28, Luke Hardman on 35 and Colin Lomas on 63. A mass brawl late in the second half saw Daisy's Ryan Cain and LR's Liam Boden also sent off.

In the Manchester League division one Hindsford returned to winning ways with a 5-1 home win over Ashton Athletic. Goals came from Matt Toone with a hat-trick, man of the match Simon Hampson and Peter Barry Jnr.

Leigh Athletic marched on towards the title with a 5-1 home win over Old Alts and Breightmet United won 2-1 at home against Belden.

Tempest United took a further step towards West Lancs League Premier Division football next season with a 3-0 win at Haslingden St Mary's. Goals coming from Craig Livett, Steve Settle and Sean Whorlow. The Reserves lost 4-0 at Fleetwood Hesketh.
