Shutters went in front through Roberts, only to let the lead slip when Moss equalised for Hulton Lane. In the second half Barrow put Shutters in front again, only to let the lead slip when sub Wild equalised for Hulton Lane. Shutters held on to go through to play Masons Arms in the next round.
Premier Division Horwich RMI were too strong for Second Division Sharples. Horwich running out 8-4 winners.
In Division one Ellesmere had an excellent victory over Samba 3-2.
Britannia Inn proved too strong for Royal, with a 5-1 victory. Thompson, Unsworth, Garrard, Hayes and Grewcock all on target for Britannia. Goodridge replied for Royal.

In Division Two, Rigby Taylor sealed the championship with a 5-2 victory against Breightmet Rovers. For Rigby's, Saunders and Irving both scored two goals each with one goal coming from Callow. Kirkman replied for Breightmet with two goals.
