TALKS between Bury loan star Colin Cramb and chairman Terry Robinson will take place this week in a bid to keep the hitman at Gigg Lane next season.

The Shakers are trying to find a way to keep the striker, despite having no money to spend.

Cramb is contracted to Crewe for another two years and the First Division club are believed to want £100,000 for the player, leaving Robinson with a major headache.

However both the club and Cramb want the same thing ... for him to be lining up in a Shakers shirt in August.

The big Scot underlined his value to the club with his terrific injury time winner at Luton Town but that was his final match for Bury.

He is suspended for the last two matches of the season against Wycombe and Brentford and then officially becomes a Crewe players again as his loan spell finishes at the end of the season.

"I'll be speaking to the chairman and to Andy (Preece) about it in the next week," said Cramb.

"I don't quite know what the situation is but there's no reason why we can't sit down and get something sorted.

"I'm enjoying my time here. They are a great bunch of lads, a great manager and the chairman's brilliant as well. Let's just hope something can be sorted out with Crewe. I'd like to come.

"I've still got two years left at Gresty Road which is maybe a stumbling block because I'm still owed a couple of signing on fees which I'd be looking to get. But you never know. The chairman here is shrewd and hopefully we can sit down and get something sorted."

Cramb also outlined how he could help the development of Bury's other striker, Jon Newby.

"It's great to play with Jon because of his pace and we know each others strengths," explained Cramb. "I can help Jon and possibly improve his game with the experience I have of playing in the First Division."

Talking about the possiblity of Camb remaining a Bury player, chairman Terry Robinson said: "It is something myself and the manager want to pursue but we have to wait and see what happens with the position of the club." From back page Cramb talks

Meanwhile Cramb may be suspended for the final two matches of the season but he told the BEN he will be at Gigg Lane on Saturday for the visit of Wycombe - and at Brentford for the final match - to cheer the team on.
