Crook inspires Walkden MIDFIELDER Dave Cook was the inspiration for Walkden in a 3-1 Premier Division win at Bolton Lads Club. He scored the opening goal on 28 minutes and was the outstanding candidate for the man of the match award.
Steve Clayton made it 2-0 by the break but Jonathan Abernethy got one back for Lads Club on 55 minutes. Any hopes of a late point-saving rally for the Hacken Lane lads were killed off when Michael Sharp got a third for the visitors 73 minutes.
Kersal Vale romped to a 4-0 away victory at Stoneclough with goals from Paul Whealing, John Daniels, man of the match Mark Gatley and the Brook Street outfit,s misery complete when Ewan Cain put through his own goal.
In Division One a Steve Erskine goal fifteen minutes from time earned leaders Brindle Heath a 1-0 home win over Stoneclough Reserves. Kevin Baison scored all four for Diamond in a 4-0 away win at Fearnleys.
Mike Littler and Rob Hagan scored twice and Dave O'Gorman once in Light Oak Rangers 5-2 win over Commercial. David Duval netted both for the losers. Two from Michele Girgenti and one each from Michael Cooney and Leon Craven saw AS Weaste to a 4-0 away win at Walkden Reserves.
