NEW pro Ijaz Mahmood is still involved in a tournament in Pakistan and was missing when Little Hulton lined up for the game against Darcy Lever.

But they managed without him picking up a 62 run win after Andy Sutherland's haul of 6-21 had seen Darcy bowled out for a meagre 53.

Darcy had their new pro Yasir Bashir in their line-up but the off spinner could not halt Little Hulton's major run-maker Ian Lee, who scored 49 in setting a target of 115.

Arindam Sarker is not expected at Spring View until the middle of this week but they could have done with him as they went down to a six wicket defeat against Adlington.

Man of the match was Adlington's Carl Drinkwater, who made an impressive return to his home club, taking five wickets for six runs off 11 overs to restrict Spring View to 93-8.

Darryl Hitchen 30 not out and Mike Rawlings 30 then eased Adlington to their win, Ian Murphy Spring View's best bowler with 3-18 off ten.

Clifton who will have to play all their home games away during the first half of the season because of pitch repairs, got the start they needed with a three wicket win at Elton.

They dismissed the Bury side for 106 pro David Parkinson collecting 4-40 and Gary Tonge 4-14 before Tony Kelly and Paul Weir both hit 28 in a reply of 109-7.

Elton pro Chris Hall, another player returning to his home town club, took 4-30.
