Ladies jump to it in aid of quake victims WANTED: Local females willing to abseil 60 feet off the Bolton Evening News' building on Saturday. No previous experience necessary.

But, for those daredevils willing to take this leap of faith, there's the chance to help a very good cause -- and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime achievement.

The sponsored abseil off the Churchgate building in Bolton town centre is being organised by Barnardo's Phoenix Project with Adventure Unlimited from Bolton Youth Service and with the support of the Bolton Evening News.

And an experienced team of experts from Adventure Unlimited will be on the roof of the modern building, ensuring that all the women abseil safely to the ground.

The purpose of the exercise is to raise money for the Indian Earthquake Appeal to aid the thousands made homeless by the January earthquake which devastated Gujarat killing over 25,000 people.

Those taking part in this sponsored event are being asked to raise a minimum of £30 to £50 each.

And anyone who definitely doesn't want to abseil but wants to help can pay for the privilege.

They can give 10 good reasons why they should be "excused", and either make a donation or get sponsored not to jump!

Meanwhile, female bravehearts can pick up a form from the reception at the BEN offices, or ring Bhaggie Patel at Barnardo's on 01204-848966.
