A WINNING team at a Bolton primary school is celebrating after picking up a prestigious national award for putting people first.

Staff and governors at St Matthew's Church of England Aided Primary School, Little Lever, have all contributed to the success in achieving the Investors in People (IIP) accolade.

Delighted headteacher the Rev Ian Anthony said: "Achieving Investors in People recognition confirms for us all that we are getting things right and gives the stamp of approval to our training and assessment procedures.

"It is recognition of the commitment of the staff who are a very dedicated team with each member playing an integral part in the running of the school."

The school was helped in its IIP success by members of the Bolton and Bury Chamber's Workforce Development Team.
