I READ your article about parking over Easter on Tonge Moor Road.

I have lived on Tonge Moor Road for many years and when I first moved here I telephoned the police (who, at the time, were responsible for issuing parking tickets) to ask about parking on bank holidays. They assured me they treated them as Sundays, and for the past 10 years I have parked outside my house on bank holidays with no incidents whatsoever.

What gives Bolton Council the right to change the parking restrictions without informing all residents in writing before any change is made? Is it greed? Where is all the money going from these parking tickets? Not on safer parking for residents that's for sure!!

Apparently, the Council has had a meeting recently about parking restrictions on Tonge Moor Road, but failed to inform the majority of residents. I would be interested to know the outcome of that meeting. I wonder if the Council will deign it necessary to inform us of the reason for that meeting and the outcome?!!! I for one won't be holding my breath!
