THE brand new state-of-the-art Bolton Arena opens its doors to the public on Saturday, April 14, and Horwich RMI Harriers & AC are all geared up for the off.
On the Saturday afternoon the juniors will be training on the track from 12 noon till 2pm and this will be followed by senior ladies and men's (club members) 5K track races at 3pm.
The juniors will again be training on Sunday 15th from 1pm till 3pm. Prior to this exciting opening weekend, the juniors will be training on the track on Monday and Thursday from 6pm till 8pm, becoming familiarised with their new home and facilities. It is certainly an exciting time for all concerned and the dawn of a new era for the famous old club.
The club would also like to thank all those who have put in the time and effort to anyone this year's cancelled Pike Race. Easter Saturday will still see the launch of the book Rivington Pike History and Fell Race.
Copies can be purchased by contacting the author Peter Watson on 01257 481264 (price £9.95 + £1.60 p&p). Copies of the book will be available at a later date from various outlets -- details to be announced in the BEN as soon as possible.
