SUNDAY, April 22, will see two Horwich RMI Harriers tackling the Flora London Marathon.
Together with some 31,500 other runners, Brenda Hesketh and Jenny Simmonite will be pounding the streets of London.
Like thousands of others, both will be competing not only for themselves, but also to raise money for worthy causes. Brenda will be raising money for Childline, while Jenny will be supporting Christies Hospital. Unfortunately due to injury, a third Harrier Cath Meleney will not be able to run, but will be travelling down to cheer her club-mates on.
For Brenda, it will be her fifth London Marathon, but for Jenny it is her first marathon ever. Despite having a broken toe for five weeks, Brenda is confident she has recovered fully and has put in a lot of effort in training to be fully prepared.
