STANDING water is believed to have caused a two-car smash on a country road last night.
It is believed the collision between a Rover 220 and a Honda Accord on Scout Road, Belmont, came after the Rover aqua-planed after running onto a large puddle in the road.
The Rover's driver, Shaun Kelly, 35, of the Heights, Horwich, and Roger Fairclough, 32, of Turnberry, Deane, who was at the wheel of the Honda, suffered minor cuts and bruises.
Three car passengers also suffered whiplash injuries but none were detained in hospital.
Bolton Traffic Unit have appealed for any witnesses to the crash at 9.10pm to contact officers on 0161 856 5972.
