FIREFIGHTERS in Hindley pulled a man to safety from a house fire early today.
Fire crews used a ladder to reach Carl Johnson, 31, who was stood at a first floor window of his home in Upper Dickinson Street, Wigan, just after 5.30am. Firefighters extinguished a small blaze at the bottom of a flight of stairs in the property.
