too upset THINK OF POOR
SCARBOROUGH! THOSE Wanderers fans who cried "foul" when arch-rivals Blackburn loaned Republic of Ireland keeper Alan Kelly (pictured right) to Stockport for Tuesday's Reebok derby should spare a thought for Scarborough supporters.
They were caught out by an even more significant post deadline transfer when Carlisle United were given special dispensation to take Jimmy Glass on loan from Swindon ... Glass famously left his goal area and ran up the field to score the sensational injury-time goal that beat Plymouth 2-1 and kept Carlisle in the Football League and condemned Scarborough to the drop!
Nationwide League spokesman John Nagle confirmed: "If a club cannot field a fit, professional goalkeeper, the League does allow special dispensation for a transfer to take place after the deadline. But clubs must provide independent medical proof that the players involved are not capable of playing."
But irate fans ringing the BEN hotline question whether County should have been allowed to borrow a player who is clearly well above the standard of any of their existing keepers and from a club with such a vested interest in the outcome of the game.
Coincidentally, Glass was also in action for Kingstonian in the Conference on Tuesday night ... against Scarborough of all teams!
