I HAVE been working on my family history and believe my grandfather hailed from Bolton. His name was Charles Edwin Booth.
When he lived in Bolton, he resided with his father, William, and sister Elizabeth. They were lodgers in 1881 and lived with Frederic Shaw at 13, Gregson Field. Charles Booth was born in April, 1861. He emigrated to the US in 1885. He was married twice. His second wife was Elizabeth Mortland, daughter of John and Charlotte Mortland. Elizabeth, was born in England in 1870.
