MP BRIAN Iddon is calling on local organisations to identify older people in Bolton who are the "heroes" of local volunteering.
And those identified will be presented with a certificate and an invitation to visit the House of Commons. The initiative is being organised by the International Year of Volunteers 2001 Group of Older Volunteers.
Dr Iddon said: "I am delighted to involved in this initiative to recognise the contribution that older people make to our community."
Anyone who wants to put forward a name should write to Dr Iddon at the House of Commons, Westminster, London SW1A 0AA.
