AN outsourcing decision by Scottish Amicable is good news for a company with an office in Bolton.

The transfer of 600 Small Self-Administered Schemes to Salisbury-based James Hay pension Trustees Ltd started at the beginning of April.

James Hay, which is based in Bolton at the Deakins Business Park, Egerton, has moved offices into a new purpose-build unit in order to absorb the additional workload and cope with future expansion.

It is recruiting a number of additional, experienced pensions administrators.

Scottish Amicable is the first life office to outsource its SSAS administration as a direct result of new rules which come into force this year.

Mr Ian Hammond, Managing Director of James Hay, said he was delighted that Scottish Amicable had chosen them to administer their schemes.

He added: "While we have a number of such arrangements in our Salisbury Head Office, this is the first such contract for our Bolton office and shows our commitment to develop our Northern presence and build upon the knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm of our staff."
