I RECENTLY heard a rumour (I hope it wasn't a vicious one!) that we are in for a hot summer. I have to say that I am keeping everything crossed because, after the miserable winter and spring we have had, we are due some hot weather. There is a slightly selfish reason as well -- our town centre events will be a lot more enjoyable for everyone if the sun is shining (but since when have Boltonians let a little rain spoil their day!)

A QUICK REMINDER

Don't forget to pick up the next edition of the Daytime Night-time Newsletter due out with the BEN on April 20. As always, it is packed with news and ideas from town centre businesses -- not to be missed, free at your newsagents with the BEN.

Town centre businesses will shortly be receiving the second edition of Centre View, the newsletter dedicated to informing businesses about issues affecting them and the work of the Town Centre Company -- keep a look out!

FASHION, HEALTH & BEAUTY -- BOLTON STYLE!

Come and indulge yourself on April 27, 28 and 29 between 11am and 4pm at the Fashion, Health & Beauty Exhibition on Victoria Square. The event is being staged in a large marquee (just in case we don't get the heatwave!), and will feature seven professional fashion shows per day with fashions from all your favourite stores plus exhibition stands from the Fashion, Health and Beauty industry. The event is completely free of charge to the public and provides you with the ultimate opportunity to re-invent your wardrobe, get a makeover or switch to a healthier lifestyle.

We are running a competition in conjunction with the BEN giving one lucky person the opportunity to be a model for the day. To enter, send a photo and letter saying why you deserve the prize to Angela Kelly at the BEN. If you don't fancy it yourself, why not nominate a friend or family member.

During the exhibition, Boots, Debenhams and Bodyshop will be doing makeovers or, if your nails are in need of a bit of attention, Boots can help! Regis will be providing hair advice and, for the menfolk, Smalls Electric Shaver Centre will be able to demonstrate the latest products. For something a little bit different, we will have St George's Therapy Centre and the Chinese Medical Centre providing advice on alternative treatments. Your senses will be awoken by the spices on show from The House of Raja and, if that puts you in the mood for foreign travel, have a chat with staff from St Andrews Travel, who will be able to provide you with advice on the best holiday destinations.

Over the next couple of weeks you can pick up leaflets from around the town centre with all the information you will need -- however in the meantime, fashion show times are as follows:- 11.30am, 12 noon, 1pm, 1.30pm, 2pm, 3pm, 3.30pm

Each show lasts for 15 minutes and will feature ladieswear, menswear, footwear from young trendy fashions to classical and from outdoor wear to sportswear.

From laser eye treatment to fashion and travel, it will all be under one roof for three days -- don't miss out!

Any businesses that are interested in exhibiting at the Fashion Health & Beauty Event -- it's not too late! Call Cathy Savage on 01204 523762.
