IT seems the dog owners of Bolton can't do right for doing wrong.

We think we are doing the right thing picking up our dog mess, but then we are wrong expecting a bin to put it in. Is it our fault that the bins are not emptied often enough?

Obviously, if the walk is local, then taking the bag home is the sensible thing to do. But what if the walk or drive isn't near home? Are we expected to carry the bag around all day, or put it in a car, and bring it home? We pay our Council Tax just the same as other people. Surely the emptying of a dog bin isn't too much to expect? You can't have it both ways. If you expect dog owners to clean up, then provide the bins and empty them. I don't object to cleaning up after my dog, but I object at being made to feel guilty because I don't want to take it home.

Dog mess isn't the only offending thing that gets left behind. What about chewing gum, litter etc -- do the people who deposit this take it home?

What about some people's disgusting habit of spitting out -- do THEY get abuse? What about horses -- do the owners dismount, pick up, take home? Of course, not, but I'm sure they will get round it some way. Perhaps we could all run out with a bucket and spade and spread the muck in our gardens. Save the Council a job!
