IN response to 'One Irate Tenant' (Your Views: Tuesday, April 3). Let's get one thing straight for starters. I did not call all the residents of De Lacy Drive, cretins and morons.
As far as I know, only one person, other than yourself, has put that interpretation on my letter, and that's Cllr Peel, one of the people responsible for demolishing your home.
The cretins I refer to are those who blight the life of decent people, not only on De Lacy Drive, but on estates all over Bolton.
If this situation is allowed to continue, where cretins are allowed to create ghettos of unlettable properties, pretty soon people like Nick Peel will be giving orders for other council properties to be bulldozed, and then for them to be replaced with private houses, as they are going to do on De Lacy Drive, and have done on other estates.
Of course this would be an ideal solution for a Tory Council, but for a Labour Council it is a downright disgrace.
