GLORIA Oates OBE, of Dearden Brook, Edenwood Lane, Ramsbottom, will be sworn in as a new High Sheriff for Lancashire on Tuesday in a ceremony at Preston where she will make a declaration to serve the Queen's Writs.
The position dates back to the middle of the 10th Century.
