WITH reference to the RJB open cast mine, are the people of Bolton turning into whingers? We complain about the demise of coal mining in the area in recent years, we are trying to preserve old slag heaps, that have miraculously turned into nature preservation sites.
We have here the chance to create some well-paid jobs and return the site, in a relatively short time, back to an aesthetically pleasing area. Despite some people's efforts to turn us into a service industry town, all working in fast food chains at £3.70 an hour, this is a working town -- and we should be proud of it.
