DAISY Hill went down 3-2 at Bacup Boro in the semi final of the Division Two Trophy.
However if first half chances had been taken it could have been a first NWCL final appearance for many seasons for Daisy. A 4th minute penalty after Ryan Cain had been fouled was converted by Dominic Shinks and just two minutes later the home keeper pulled off a miraculous save to deny Neil Melling.
Two goals in quick succession put Bacup 2-1 up by the half hour mark but in the last minute of the first half Cain headed in Danny Wadeson's corner.
The decisive goal came Boro's way on the hour mark and with ten minutes left any hopes of a Daisy fightback were effectively killed off when substitute Lawson was red carded for retaliation.
