A WESTHOUGHTON company which was once part of the Riva Group has a new name -- Azurri Computer Systems Ltd.

American-owned eXegeSys UK Ltd has been acquired by a UK investment group which includes the Managing Director, Diana San Juan.

eXegeSys Inc, which is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, came to Bolton last year when it bought Riva's Business Solutions Division.

The latest deal provides for the Azurri business to continue to operate as the UK partner for eXegeSys Inc.

Azurri, which employs more than 30 people, supplies IT products and services to more than 500 companies. The company has ambitious growth plans in new areas such as managed services, eBusiness and Technology Training.

Rodney Potts, a member of the Investment Group, will join Azurri in a non-executive capacity.

Mr Potts, formerly Chief Executive Officer of CODA Plc, said: "I have been associated with this business for many years and therefore adding my support was a fairly easy decision.

"During my time as non-executive director at Riva Group I came to appreciate the strengths of Diana San Juan and her team and also that it is a business capable of generating excellent returns."

Diana San Juan said: "This is an exciting time for us.

"After a year of consolidation the business has a solid foundation in its customer support activities and can now expand confidently into new areas.

"I am pleased with the conclusion of the deal.

"It was important to maintain the relationship with eXegeSys Inc, not only for the UK base but also to have a US outlet for our own products."

The Azurri brand was launched at the company's annual Technology Day hosted by TV weather personality Sian Lloyd. The event attracted more than 175 delegates from 100 top companies.
