RESIDENTS living in Ainsworth are set to draw up plans to protect their village from future development.
Members of the Ainsworth Community Association are due to meet on Wednesday to discuss ways of safeguarding the acres of greenbelt land which surrounds the village.
It wants Ainsworth to be recognised as part of the West Pennines Moors Country Park and it proposes to draw up a 'Village Design Statement' to lay down guidelines for development.
The meeting will be held at the Unitarian School, on Knowsley Road, Ainsworth, at 7.30pm.
