A MAN was forced to hand over a £100 ring after he was threatened by two robbers outside a pub in Bolton.
The 45-year-old victim was approached by the offenders outside the Nelson Hotel, in Chorley Old Road, and was told to hand over the nine-carat piece of jewellery and a £10 note.
The two men claimed they had a knife with them and would use the weapon if he failed to give them the items.
Sgt Keith Isherwood, from Astley Bridge police station, said: "The victim was left unhurt, but badly shaken. This is a one-off in this area and we want these people caught to make sure it doesn't happen again."
Both men are described as white and in their early 20s. The first was 6ft, wearing a jacket and jeans. The second was 5ft 4 and had a scruffy appearance.
The incident happened between 8.40pm and 9pm on Monday. Anyone who can help police should contact Astley Bridge on 0161 856 5740, or the freephone Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
