WENDY Kirkham's letter (BEN: March 27) is typical of a dog owner.
At the end of the day dog owners are a selfish breed. If the Council are to provide facilities to pick up dog muck, it is the people of Bolton who end up paying the cost through Council Tax. It is about time that all dog owners should pay a licence fee, this would make them more responsible for looking after their dogs. Why should the burden fall on the taxpayer?
