COUNCILLOR John Walsh is, by training, an accountant, while I was trained as an economist. But Councillor Walsh is a far better economist than I am in relation to the truth.
Councillor Walsh's claim to have raised the issue of parking for guide dog services founders on the fact that the issue was an agenda item on the meeting which made the decision. Members do not need to raise agenda items -- they are considered as a matter of course, as the committee works through the agenda; anyone who has experience of committee work knows this.
Certainly Councillor Walsh does, but has for years been far more interested in playing politics and claiming credit for the actions of others than he has been in contributing positively to the effective running of the Council.
